Praying for Parker
What would Parker’s mom Tammy want you to know about her son? He loves to laugh, he loves bubbles, he has favorite clothes, songs, he is the light not only of her life but the whole family’s as well.
Then will she tell you about her brave little hero, who came into this world with down syndrome, chronic lung disease, imperfoate anusostomy bags, tethered spinal cord, and severe pulmonary hypertension. What she won’t tell you is leaving the house as a family isn’t an option, Parker is just too fragile. That he has a special room with oxygen tanks, and he requires oxygen twenty-fours a day. That her days are spent fighting for funds for Parker, homeschooling Parker, and caring for Parker. What she would be quick to add, is that she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Janice Croze from www.5minutesformom.com invited me along to meet Parker just a few weeks ago. What impressed me most about Janice was her utter committment to Parker and children like him. She wants everyone to be able to see the beauty and gift his life has been for Tammy and so many other people.
Tammy had been editor of a sister site www.5minutesforspecialneeds.com. 5 minutes for Special Needs was created by Janice and her sister Susan to offer insight, support, and guidance for moms who have children with unique challenges. Tammy recently stepped down so that Parker could get her full attention. Her brave little hero struggles daily to live.
